Inhumane Humanity

Of all the preposterous assumptions of humanity over humanity, nothing exceeds most of the criticisms made on the habits of the poor by the well-housed, well-warmed, and well-fed. --Herman Melville

Hoedspruit Endangered Species Center

I discovered Hoedspruit Endangered Species Center ( HESC ) while involved in my favorite pastime - reading articles about and watching videos of wild animals around the world and I have to say, this group is by far the most enjoyable to watch as they take a very refreshing and fascinating approach to caring for the gifts from Mother Nature.
Through routine, three-week programs, HESC provides students with what I and surely the students would consider, an opportunity of a lifetime in hands-on activities assisting endangered species and other animals in need of some human interaction.
The deep devotion to and passion for the wildlife of Africa and the opportunities they take to inspire others is unmatched and simply incredible to read about.
HESC students post routine updates.  Awesome kids doing awesome things with an awesome group.
Check them out - you'll find yourself hooked on their activities as I am.
One of my favorite stories - helping "Lions Den" and "Dingle Bell," two rhinos whose horns were savagely and ruthlessly removed by poachers, leaving gaping holes in their snouts.
And I can't go without posting a couple of my favorite animal (well, second favorite to my dog)
